Ozzy is an 18-month-old Great Pyrenees mix who joined his new family after some behavioral challenges, including killing some chickens. While loving and playful when his owners were home, he struggled significantly with separation anxiety when left alone. Because he wasn’t crate trained, his destructive behavior—including chewing furniture and counter-surfing—made his family feel like prisoners in their own home.
Ozzy was typical of many adolescent dogs and truly just needed to be trained. He joined us for our two week boarding school program so we could work with him on:
- Crate training
- Being able to spend some time alone and not stress
- Not chasing or harassing smaller animals like cats or chickens
- Walking politely on the leash without pulling
- Coming when called so he could enjoy some fun off leash adventures
Owner’s Feedback:
“We could not be happier with the team at BlackPaw Dog Training! Our dog, Ozzy, is a sweet 1 1/2 year old Golden Pyrenees mix that was experiencing a lot of separation anxiety. We needed to learn how to help him feel safe and secure around the house and less reactive to being alone when we needed to go to work. After their 2 week intensive, Ozzy is much more calm and we have learned how to help him be the best dog that he can be. Bernadette and her entire team has worked with us to keep Ozzy’s skills and create a much happier home environment for all of us. Highly recommended!”
